Biography

Louise trained at Redroofs Theatre School, going on to gain a PGCE in Theatre in Education from Central School of Speech and Drama and a Distinction in her MEd in Drama Education at the University of Gloucestershire. Louise worked as Performing Arts Coordinator at the National Star College for nine years, Head of Drama and Lifeskills at Wycliffe College for six years and has been Head of Education at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, since 2009.

Louise also works as a Freelance Lecturer in Drama for the University of Gloucestershire, a freelance practitioner for Dreamshed Theatre Company, Janet Marshall Dance School and is a board member for Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts. Louise focuses on the production for Twocan, representing and positively promoting the organisation. Due to sadly recognising first hand how disabled artists are not professional considered for employment within mainstream theatres in the county, she has actively tried to create work opportunities for disabled artists through TwoCan’s work.

She explores the business development, funding opportunities and the general management of the company. She has been responsible, with Nicola, for establishing and subsequently developing strategic joint ventures and joint projects and managing, reviewing and optimising the company’s finance, marketing and administration. She runs the drama programmes delivered on behalf of TwoCan for adults living with disabilities at The Butterfly Garden, Staverton, Gloucester and National Star College in Cheltenham. Louise has been working with disabled artists for over 20 years and believes that her practise and qualty of work has been creatively enhanced by the experiences.
