The summer school programme ran from 25th – 29th August 2014 and was titled ‘Breaking Barriers’ with the content of the work exploring barriers nine young deaf and disabled people had observed or experienced within their lives. The week’s creativities activities used drama, music and movement within the sessions responding to the contributions of the young people. Young people identified physical, emotional and attitudinal barriers and developed their ideas into performance elements from these reflections, resulting in a short performance that was given to an invited audience of family, friends and funders on the final afternoon.
